Is Your Button Lock Knife Conversion Ready?

If the button lock knife you have takes a coil spring there is an easy way to tell.

Simply take the knife apart and check the bottom handle piece for a spring cavity.

The spring cavity is the hole in the handle that is milled out around where the head screw sets.

This can not just be a slight depression or outline, if that is all you see the knife is not conversion ready, for most knives the cavity must be at least 0.15 inches in depth to accommodate the spring.

If the cavity exists all that needs to be done is to determine the correct spring needed and pop it in.

Once putting the blade in place remember to maneuver the blade forward (making sure tension exists) before putting the stop bar back in place.

Once back together you have a converted automatic / Switchblade Knife.

If the cavity does not exist you must drill or mill out the cavity, before the knife will accept a spring.

However becareful as if you drill through the handle this will ruin the knife!
